View of Linhurst Courtyard

The Linnhurst Lodge is situated in the attractive airport residential area. You might ask what is a lodge and how is it different from a hotel? What is the distinction in Ghana ?

Lounge come breakfast area, with resident accessing the internet

The difference is simply in the number of rooms; if a building has 15 rooms or less then the building is classified as a lodge. The Linnhurst then is simply a small hotel for all intents and purposes.

It didn't have a swimming pool but then must people stay in the air port residential area due to business and want to be near the air port.

If swimming was a priority then you would usually go for a hotel next to the coast. As the name suggests the area is called "Airport Residential " because its very near to the air port and doesn't have any industrial stuff in the areas going on.

Double room

As mentioned above Linnhurst is just like a hotel except its smaller; like any hotel set up it has a security lodge at the main gate, a reception, lounge and breakfast area like a hotel. The place might perhaps be a bit less informal than say a large hotel.

The double room i had a look at which can be seen in the photograph was actually larger than a lot of normal hotel rooms and i measured it at 20 feet by 15 feet. Rooms have TV and fridge.

Other facilities include internet access as can be seen in the photo of the lounge. The prices for the single at $90 and $100 per night for a double are fair and comparable to other accommodation in the airport residential area; but the thought that comes to my mind is why pay a hotel standard rate, and go to a lodge with less staff on duty when you can just go to a hotel with more staff and more facilities?

If management were a bit shrewder with single prices pitched at say $80 to $85 per night then that would make the Linnhurst a very attractive proposition when your on a lean budget, when you want good standards but don't want too pay over the odds. You could try and barter for $80 -$85 per night then i would definitely recommend it, but at current prices i would say its a place to try when everyone else is fully booked.
